Aerolase Neo Elite Laser: The No-Downtime Treatment for Acne, Dark Spots, and Aging in Roswell, GA

When most people hear the word "laser," their mind immediately goes to redness, peeling, a week of hiding at home, and a long list of things they can't do afterward. I hear it all the time in my treatment room — "I'd love to try laser but I can't afford the downtime."

Here's what I want you to know: the Aerolase Neo Elite is not that laser.

It's one of the most advanced aesthetic lasers available today — and one of the most uniquely gentle. No numbing cream required. No recovery window. Most clients describe the sensation as a warm drop of water on their skin. And it safely treats an extraordinary range of skin concerns, on every skin type and tone, in a single device.

I'm Maedeh Samimi, Licensed Aesthetician, Certified Acne Expert, and Laser Practitioner at Urban Skin Care Clinic in Roswell, Georgia. The Aerolase Neo Elite is one of the tools I'm most proud to offer my clients — and in this post, I want to walk you through exactly how it works, what it treats, and whether it might be the right next step for your skin.

What Is the Aerolase Neo Elite Laser?

The Aerolase Neo Elite is an FDA-cleared aesthetic medical laser built around a proprietary 650-microsecond technology — meaning it delivers laser energy in an exceptionally short, precise pulse. That specific pulse duration is the key to everything that makes this laser different.

Here's the science in plain language: the Neo Elite's energy is attracted to three targets in your skin — melanin (responsible for pigmentation and dark spots), hemoglobin (responsible for redness and visible blood vessels), and water in the skin tissue (responsible for signs of aging). The laser energy passes through the skin to selectively heat these targets, addressing your specific concerns without damaging the surrounding tissue.

Because the pulse is so brief — 650 microseconds — it doesn't have time to overheat the skin's surface. This is what makes it safe for all skin types and tones, including deeper complexions that have historically been limited in their laser treatment options. It's also what makes it so comfortable — there's no burning, no need for anesthetic, and no significant downtime.

The result is clear, healthy, renewed skin — with results that build progressively over a series of treatments.

What Can the Aerolase Neo Elite Treat?

This is where the Neo Elite truly stands apart. Rather than being a single-purpose device, it holds 36 FDA-cleared skin indications — meaning it can address an exceptionally wide range of concerns safely and effectively. At Urban Skin Care Clinic, the most common concerns I treat with the Neo Elite include:

Acne (NeoClear by Aerolase) The NeoClear protocol uses the Neo Elite's 650-microsecond energy to address the three primary drivers of acne simultaneously — excess sebum production, inflammation, and the P. acnes bacteria. Most acne treatments target only one or two of these factors at a time. NeoClear addresses all three with a single device, in a single comfortable session. Results can be visible quickly, and it's an excellent option for clients who prefer not to use prescription medications or for whom medications haven't worked. It is safe and effective for all skin types, all ages, and all types of acne.

Melasma and Hyperpigmentation (NeoSkin by Aerolase) Melasma is one of the most challenging skin conditions to treat because it involves multiple layers — epidermal melanin, dermal melanin, and often a vascular component. The NeoSkin protocol addresses all of these factors in a single treatment, delivering laser energy into both the dermis and epidermis to break up melanin deposits while simultaneously shutting down the vasculature and inflammation that drive melasma. For clients who want accelerated clearance, it can also be combined with a chemical peel in the same session for a powerful approach.

®️

Rosacea, Redness, and Visible Veins (NeoSkin by Aerolase) Chronic redness, rosacea, broken capillaries, and spider veins respond beautifully to the Neo Elite. The laser's deep-penetrating energy suppresses the inflammation causing the redness and coagulates unwanted veins and broken capillaries, which are then gradually cleared by your body's natural immune response. For clients who have managed rosacea through avoidance of triggers and cosmetic camouflage, this offers a genuinely clinical path to visible, lasting improvement.

Skin Rejuvenation and Tightening (NeoSkin by Aerolase) As skin ages, a combination of concerns tends to emerge — enlarged pores, texture irregularities, laxity, fine lines, age spots, and general dullness. The NeoSkin rejuvenation protocol uses the Neo Elite's energy to stimulate collagen production, tighten skin, reduce pore appearance, and address pigmentation and vascular concerns — all in a single, tailored treatment session. This used to require numerous different treatments and devices. NeoSkin accomplishes it comprehensively in one.

Additional conditions the Neo Elite can also address scars, skin tags, keratoses, hemangiomas, perioral and periocular wrinkles, psoriasis, port wine stains, and more.

Is the Aerolase Neo Elite Safe for Skin of Color?

Yes — and this is something I feel strongly about highlighting.

Historically, many laser treatments carried significant risk for clients with deeper skin tones because the laser energy couldn't differentiate effectively between the target (a dark spot, for example) and the surrounding melanin-rich skin — leading to burns, hyperpigmentation, or ineffective results.

The Aerolase Neo Elite's 650-microsecond pulse technology was specifically engineered to address this gap. The energy passes through the epidermis so rapidly that it doesn't have time to overheat the epidermal melanocytes — meaning the pigmentary risk associated with most laser systems is dramatically reduced. Clients of all skin tones can receive safe, effective, comfortable treatments with the Neo Elite, which is something I'm genuinely proud to offer to our diverse community here in the greater Atlanta area.

What to Expect During Your Aerolase Treatment

Before your appointment:

Avoid retinoids for three days prior. If you have an active sunburn or irritated skin at the treatment site, we'll need to wait until your skin has calmed. Please also let us know if you're pregnant, have lupus or other light-sensitive conditions.

During treatment:

Most clients are genuinely surprised by how comfortable the experience is. There's no numbing required. The sensation is typically described as a warm drop of water — brief, mild, and entirely tolerable.

After treatment:

There is no downtime. You can return to work, exercise, and your regular activities immediately.

Timeline for results:

This varies by condition and individual. Some clients — particularly those receiving NeoClear for acne — notice visible improvement after a single session. For other concerns like melasma or rejuvenation, a series of treatments spaced appropriately will deliver the most significant and lasting results. We'll set clear expectations and a realistic timeline during your consultation.

How the Aerolase Neo Elite Fits Into Your Skin Plan

Whether you're actively clearing acne, working to fade hyperpigmentation, managing rosacea, or investing in long-term skin health and graceful aging, the Neo Elite can play a meaningful role in your protocol.

At Urban Skin Care Clinic, I never recommend laser treatment in isolation. Every client who receives the Neo Elite does so as part of a broader, customized plan — with homecare support, clear milestones, and ongoing check-ins to ensure you're seeing the progress you came for.

The Neo Elite pairs particularly well with the Glacial Skin Treatment for clients managing redness and inflammation — the laser addresses the underlying vascular and pigmentation concerns while the Glacial treatment supports recovery and maintains calm, hydrated skin between sessions.

The Investment

The Aerolase Neo Elite Laser Treatment is $399 per session. For members, the rate is $249.

NeoClear (acne), NeoSkin (melasma/hyperpigmentation, rejuvenation/tightening, rosacea/redness/veins) are each available at this investment. Ask about our membership option to make consistent laser treatment a sustainable part of your skin plan.

Is the Aerolase Neo Elite Right for You?

If any of the following sounds like you, the answer is very likely yes:

You're managing persistent acne that hasn't fully responded to topical treatments alone. You have melasma, sun damage, or hyperpigmentation you've been trying to fade. You notice redness, rosacea, or visible broken capillaries you'd like to address clinically. You're interested in skin tightening, collagen stimulation, and a more youthful, radiant complexion. You've wanted laser treatment but assumed it wasn't safe for your skin tone or that you couldn't afford the downtime.

The best way to know for certain is to come in for a consultation. We'll assess your skin, discuss your goals, and map out a treatment plan with clear costs, realistic timelines, and no pressure — just honest guidance.
